Although it is not noticeable at first, registry errors can render applications useless and cause your computer to run slowly. It can be very dangerous to modify or remove registry keys manually. If you delete the wrong key, you will encounter worse problems, instead of fixing anything. This is why we should let specialized software to repair any registry issues. Using PC Registry Shield is a fast and safe way to fix registry related issues. It will scan specific keys, create backup and it lets you add certain items to an exceptions list.

PC Registry Shield is compatible with 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista and Win 7. The setup process is straightforward, but if you still have trouble with it, you can find step by step instructions on the developer's web page.

PC Registry Shield will scan ActiveX entries, shared DLLs, application paths, program shortcuts and many more places in the Windows Registry. You can select multiple areas or all of them in the software's Scan page. The scanning process can be started by clicking a button and the results will be displayed in a few seconds, under a different tab. If the software finds any problems, you may click the same button to start repairing.

The same process can be started faster on the software's home page. Besides the large button for finding errors, you will also find information regarding your system's status, recommended actions, repair summary and quick tips. The scanning option, on the home screen, will include all registry areas by default. Once you start scanning, you will be taken to the Scan section, where you will need to click the same Repair button as before.

Before it fixes any problems, PC Registry Shield will create a backup for your registry, so you can delete any broken key safely. If you damage something by mistake, you can restore the whole registry to its previous state in the Reverse Repair section. To make it even safer, you can add any keys to an ignore list, on the software's settings page. This page also contains general settings, logs and a schedule feature, placed under separate tabs.

Pros

There are no complex options to find on PC Registry Shield's interface. You just have to select what registry items to scan, which is optional, and click a button. The program will back up your registry automatically and it lets you create an ignore list, so it is very safe to use.

Cons

The software will prompt you to buy the product each time you attempt to repair the found errors. If you perform routine scans with PC Registry Shield, you can prevent any registry errors. It will take only a few minutes and it will keep your system in a clean state.
